Dr. Terainer Brown is the proud new owner of Mathnasium of Yorktown (March 1, 2024), conveniently located in the Hampton Roads community!

Dr. Brown is a dedicated advocate for the transformative power of mathematical understanding, believing it to be a key tool for success in various college and career pathways. Drawing inspiration from her mentor, the late Bob Moses, a Harvard graduate and accomplished mathematician, Dr. Brown has left an indelible mark on mathematics education.
Educational Initiatives and Leadership
Her journey began with impactful initiatives like the Algebra Project, Elementary Math Laboratory, and Secondary Math Laboratory at the University of Michigan. Dr. Brown continued her commitment to empowering students through mathematics as the Director of the Pre-Collegiate Program at the University of Colorado. She established a skill-leveled summer bridge program, aiding students in their journey toward college preparation.
Building Collaborative Educational Networks
Dr. Brown's collaborative spirit shines through her efforts to forge relationships between the University of Colorado's Mathematics Department and local high school mathematics departments. This ensured alignment of standards of learning and programmatic priorities, fostering a seamless educational transition for students.

With the support of mentors like Julie, who holds a rich seven-year history within the Mathnasium family, Dr. Brown can attest firsthand to the excellence and experience students and families admire about Mathnasium. She is geared up to continue fostering a love for learning among students, families, and staff alike!
